National Cycling Championship to Begin in Siem Reap

SIEM REAP: The 2021 National Cycling Championship has started today, in Siem Reap Province. The sporting event will take place over three days and will conclude on Thursday. It is a major competition preparing athletes for the South East Asian Games 2022 in Vietnam and the South East Asian Games 2023, which will be held in Cambodia.

The Secretary General of the Cambodian Cycling Federation, Nou Chamroeun, has stated in a press conference the federation is working hard to strengthen Cambodian resources for cycling, as well as developing talent capacities for international competitions, such as the 2023 SEA Games, which Cambodia will be hosting.

The 2021 National Cycling Championship will also provide the Cambodian Cycling Federation, the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, and the Olympic Committee, technical experience to organize the sport when the SEA Games starts in 2023.

The contest will be divided into two categories: Road Bike, which includes Man Junior, Man Elite and Man Master Road Bikes; and Mountain Bike, which includes Man Junior, Man Elite, Woman and Man Master Mountain Bikes.
